The Brisbane City Pops Orchestra is thrilled to be returning to both SunPAC at Sunnybank and the Church of Christ at Kenmore for our first concert series of 2025, entitled Hidden Treasures.

The program features music that we consider to be the precious gems of the music world, that perhaps haven’t featured in a concert for a while. We will showcase a wide variety of musical riches, from the toe-tapping medley of Leroy Anderson favourites (including Serenata, Belle of the Ball and Syncopated Clock) to the very serene and elegant Pachabel Canon, featuring our very talented Strings!

We will also have a trip down memory lane with Glenn Miller’s beautiful Moonlight Serenade, the very cute Baby Elephant Walk by Henri Mancini and a medley of childhood favourites called Disney Magic. As well, the orchestra will perform the very lively March from Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite, as well as the atmospheric La Calinda by Delibes and another hidden gem – the fabulous latin Tico Tico!!

The BCPO is excited to welcome back two amazing singers, and audience favourites, Katie Stenzel and Gregory Moore, who will be performing a treasure chest full of sparkling vocals.

Katie is a dynamic coloratura soprano who has completed her Master of Music Studies at the Qld Conservatorium and has performed widely in Australia and also internationally, in operatic roles and concerts. Katie will be showcasing her stunning voice in Strauss’ elegant and lively Voices of Spring and the tender and heartfelt The Wind Beneath My Wings.

Gregory Moore is a very popular tenor who graduated from the Qld Conservatorium of Music and is kept busy as a cross-over Pop Opera artist who has performed extensively in Australia and overseas. As always, you will be inspired by Gregory’s passionate and powerful performance of Nessun Dorma by Puccini and the very uplifting and timeless gem, You Raise Me Up.

Katie and Gregory will also present the very joyful and heart-warming duet Amigos Para Siempre (Friends For Life) - a performance not to be missed!

So, please join the Brisbane City Pops Orchestra and our very talented guest artists for an unmissable concert in which every piece of sparkling music will deliver Hidden Treasures!
